Making the Most of CVATD Membership

The Making the Most of CVATD Membership presentation is a free session for new and prospective members who want to better understand what the chapter offers and how to get involved. During the session, we walk through the different membership options and highlight opportunities to connect and learn through programs like Coffee Chat & Contacts (CCC), book clubs, workshops, and special interest groups (SIGs).

We also review options such as Power Membership, group membership discounts, and sponsorship opportunities that can expand access to professional development and networking.

Participants will see where to find resources through the CVATD website and LinkedIn so they can stay connected and informed. The goal of this session is simple: help members understand what is available and make the most of their experience with CVATD.

Allana Bowman, APTD
Co-Director, Membership

Allana Bowman is a seasoned Training and Development Specialist with over 13 years of experience in empowering individuals and organizations through strategic learning solutions. Currently at Pharmacy Data Management, Inc. (PDMI), she excels in designing and implementing programs that support employees' long-term development and align with organizational goals. Her expertise spans instructional design, coaching, needs analysis, e-learning, blended learning, and talent assessment, complemented by her strong skills in data analysis and change management.

Certified by the Association for Talent Development (ATD) with an ATD Coaching Certificate and an Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credential, Allana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from The University of Akron. She is deeply committed to fostering a culture of learning and development, contributing fresh perspectives, and driving positive change.

Teresa Potter, M.Ed.

Teresa Potter, M.Ed., is the CEO and Principal Instructional Designer of T. Potter Instructional Design. She started her career as a classroom teacher for middle and high school language arts, and has since then spent 10+ years working in Instructional Design. She has done ID work with higher education institutions as well as in corporate roles and as a consultant. She has spent her career leading bleeding-edge educational technology projects where there are more questions than answers.

Teresa is a graduate of Kent State University and the University of Akron.
