In December 2019, ATD published a new Capability Model.   This new model replaces the 2013 Competency Model.  The goals for updating the Competency Model are as follows:

1. Define the field of Talent Development (now and 5+ years into the future).
2. Provide better career pathing for TD professionals.
3. Align with best practices in competency modeling.
